JanSport Klamath Backpack
My neighbor goes camping a lot and said he might have a JanSport Klamath Backpack that I can borrow. He got it on clearance at the start of the summer for about $135 – if I have fun on this trip, I might look into getting one for myself!

Our entire volleyball team is going on a 3-day hiking trip next week to promote team bonding. I think it’s a great pre-season activity, and it will certainly help break up the monotony of standard conditioning, but I don’t exactly have the gear on hand that I’ll need for that kind of trip.
I read a little online about the JanSport Klamath 68 – I’m not sure if that’s the same model that my neighbor has, but it must be similar.
The backpack definitely looks like something a serious hiker would carry – it’s about two and a half feet long, but somehow weighs less than four pounds.
The main compartment loads from the top, and various gear pockets line the back and sides. Everything compresses down and snaps into place using s series of straps, so that way nothing goes bouncing around while you’re trying to hike along the trail.
It looks like there’s a special compartment to hold a sleeping back, which helps fill out the aluminum frame and make the Klamath more comfortable to carry. The harness and shoulder straps look pretty standard, but my neighbor says he really likes the foam or air that pads the carrying straps.
The JanSport Klamath looks to be the top of the line when it comes to daypacks for hikers. I find it hard to believe that such serious equipment doesn’t come with such a serious price. Keep an eye out for seasonal discounts, and you’re sure to get a good deal on one of these bags.
It looks like JanSport will be coming out with a new model this summer, so prices on the Klamath 68 may drop even further. Keep your fingers crossed and let all your friends know – anyone who loves the outdoors will definitely want to take advantage of this deal.
