Scott Mountain Bikes are revolutionary and have an interesting history. In 1970, engineer and skiing racer Ed Scott expanded his skiing gear empire into Motocross goggles.

They were a success and soon thereafter, he started to produce mountain bikes.

His in particular, were revolutionary as they were the first to have an aero bar—something American biker Greg Lemond later credited his Tour de France win too.

Ed Scott then went on to manufacture innovative mountain bike suspension systems through the 1990s, ultimately setting a record for lightest mountain bike in 2003.
